Many Fires Beneath

Many Fires Beneath

Artist: Magnus Lassila
Release Year: 2026

Description: This isn’t just another ambient album — it’s an excavation.

Many Fires Beneath explores the hidden life of the forest floor. Beneath the quiet surface of leaves,
soil and roots, countless processes are constantly unfolding:
detritus breaking down, mycelium spreading unseen highways, roots exchanging nutrients, and slow chemical transformations building the ground beneath our feet.

The album unfolds like a soil core sample. Beginning with the detritus of the forest floor, the listener gradually descends through roots,
humus, and subsoil, into deeper and darker layers where decomposition and carbon cycles quietly reshape the earth.

Built from generative structures using resonant strings, plucked tones, and drifting harmonic fields, the music mirrors these underground systems.
Bright organic patterns move like living networks while deeper tonal masses rise and fade like slow geological forces.

You walk through the forest.
Everything seems calm.

But beneath your feet,
many fires are burning.
