Description: Originally composed for the 2006 theatrical production EKO by Teater Acedia in Umeå, this album is a journey into deep emotional resonance — both literal and symbolic.
Built around the idea of distant calls — of voices, of memories, of whales echoing through darkness — EKO unfolds like a submerged opera, with movements that ripple through time and pressure.
Recorded onto ADAT and mixed live using only an Atari running Cubase, this project captures a rawness that's both haunting and immediate.
The limited tools shaped the sound: tactile, breathy, tape-warmed, and soaked in reverb like sonar lost in the abyss.
The sound design echoes the theatrical narrative — mysterious, layered, and mythic — but the music now stands alone, like an artifact recovered from the ocean floor: still pulsing, still calling, still waiting for a response.
