In 2022, to mark the anniversary of Voyager’s launch, the 79 Moons project began:
a twelve-volume exploration of Jupiter’s 79 (at the time) natural satellites through generative modular synthesis.
Over the course of 1.5 years, 79 tracks, nearly 19 hours of music emerged including the single Philophrosyne clocking in at 51 minutes.
Each piece an evolving portrait of a moon, an imagined world given voice in sound.

This cassette, Optimus de LXXIX Lunarum (“The Best of the 79 Moons”), distills that cosmic journey into a single curated voyage.
These recordings, captured live in single takes, showcase sprawling modular patches designed to surprise their creator as much as they were guided by them.
Systems that played me as much as I played them, drifting between control and chaos.

What remains is a constellation of moments: shimmering atmospheres, volcanic bursts of texture,
and glacial drones orbiting in an ever-changing dance.
It is a reminder that in both space and sound, beauty often arises unbidden, in the fragile balance between design and unpredictability.
