Description: Named after the fictional noir author from New Girl, Julius Pepperwood is part character study, part sonic collage — a strange and beautiful meeting between acoustic instruments and modular systems, where logic circuits wrestle with flutes, and feedback loops are guided by ghostly guitars.
This album marks the introduction of the 2hp Play module into the eurorack system, loaded with fragments of recorded instruments: flute, guitar, random clunks and creaks. These were then fed into the 2hp Loop module, set to Frippertronics mode, and processed through an evolving patch of unpredictable modular chaos.
It’s part improv, part surveillance tape from an alternate universe. Rhythms rise and dissolve, loops stretch, melodies decay into filtered whispers.
The title might be silly. The acronym may be unreadable. But the sound is unmistakably alive — strange, intimate, and entirely me..
