Artist: The Pop
Release Year: 1997
Description: This is what happens when you plug in every instrument you own, hit record, and see where the noise takes you.
Originally performed under the name The Pop, this album was fully improvised in a single room, in a single session, using an explosive mix of drum machines, synths, live drums, and pure instinct.
No mixing. No overdubs. No undo.
Recorded directly to a humble iRiver MP3 player, these tracks capture a moment of chaotic intimacy between two friends — tangled in cables, chasing ideas that didn’t exist five seconds earlier.
It’s avant-garde, it’s punk, it’s deliberately unrefined. But above all, it’s honest. The title may suggest romance, but this is a love affair with sound — unstable, unpredictable, and beautiful because of it.
Personnel:
Magnus Lassila: Mostly drums and sounds
Johannes Persson Burström: Mostly Keyboards and sounds
